The donation will ensure the provision of much-needed
aid to people in Somalia, the Emirates Red Crescent said.
UAE healthcare company has donated Dh1 million to the Emirates Red Crescent's For You Somalia aid campaign.
An agreement for the donation was signed between the Red Crescent and the donor, VPS Healthcare.
"Today's donation will ensure the provision of much needed aid to people in Somalia who are facing a severe famine," Dr Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Emirates Red Crescent secretary general, said on Tuesday.
"In the Year of Giving, we are grateful for this support and generosity towards the Emirates Red Crescent as we seek to achieve our goal of raising AED 500 million."
Earlier this month, the UAE launched an aid campaign to provide relief to Somalia, which is facing its third famine in 25 years.
